Established in 1999, the Southern Arizona Attractions Alliance (SAAA) was created with the aim of addressing the question of things to do in Tucson and Southern Arizona. It was formed by industry leaders from Visit Tucson, Pima Air and Space Museum, Old Tucson, and the Desert Museum. Initially comprising 15 attractions, this non-profit organization has significantly expanded to include over 110 members. The primary mission of SAAA is to promote the region's attractions utilizing innovative marketing strategies.
In 2004, SAAA collaborated with Visit Tucson and Pima County Attractions & Tourism to introduce the "Passport to Attractions". This initiative offered a convenient pocket-size guide featuring a map, descriptions, and exclusive savings for each attraction, effectively showcasing the diverse array of experiences available in the area.
